Before We Schedule Your First Appointment
Before scheduling a first appointment, we review several factors to help determine the best next step:
whether you are seeking therapy or psychological testing
the client’s age and primary concerns
therapist specialty and clinical fit
insurance participation
provider availability
whether the provider is currently accepting new clients
You may request a specific therapist, but placement with a specific provider cannot be guaranteed.
We make a good-faith effort to review insurance benefits before your first appointment when possible. Insurance information is not a guarantee of payment, and clients are responsible for understanding their own insurance coverage, including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and plan limitations.
If we are unable to verify your benefits before your first appointment, we may require the private pay rate of $150 for the first counseling session.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Here are a few practical details to help your first appointment go smoothly.
-
When you arrive, please check in at the front desk and provide your name and date of birth. Our staff will confirm your payment method, collect your expected payment responsibility, and notify your therapist that you have arrived.
After check-in, please wait in the lobby. Your therapist will come get you when it is time for your session.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, and a late cancellation/no-show fee may apply. If you are running late and are able to switch to telehealth, please call our office as soon as possible.
-
Your therapist will send your telehealth link the morning of your appointment. You may log in at your scheduled appointment time.
Payment is collected at the time of service. If your card is declined, we will notify you by text and ask you to update your payment method promptly. If your payment information needs to be updated before your appointment, please contact our office before your session time.
If you do not receive your telehealth link by the time of your appointment, please call our office.
-
For minor clients, please register using the personal information of the minor. A photo ID of the parent or guardian will be required, and that same parent or legal guardian must attend the first appointment.
After the first appointment, parent/guardian involvement may vary based on the client’s age, treatment needs, therapist recommendation, and legal/clinical requirements.
-
After your first completed session, you may use the TherapyAppointment client portal to self-schedule future appointments, reschedule or cancel appointments, update your card on file, update insurance information, complete paperwork, and pay outstanding balances.
-
Restored Life Counseling is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing an emergency or are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
